Hokkaido 241
Studio sample solo: It's very synth-bellish / has a metallic ring to it. Classic synth lead. No bell/metallic character.
mikelorenz 94
The last time I used (Mixed Lead) in a cover, I added Reberb and a little Vibrato, I also changed the filter parameters a little, this was the result. Maybe it's not the same but I think it's quite suitable for a cover, I'll leave it to your discretion. Edited October 4 by mikelorenz

Bit of a tangent but this preset also appears in the Nord Lead 2X. The whole Nord Lead 2X was sampled into NSMP files by Nord themselves, but they don't publicise it anymore. You can find it (and probably plenty more old Nord Lead sounds) on this old version of the Nord website: https://dev.nordkeyboards.com/sound-libraries/nord-sample-library-archive/synthesizers/nord-lead-2x/nord-lead-2x-pads-2 2

mikelorenz 94
I was thinking maybe Buck Dich's keyboard solo could be from Nord Lead. I did this test with a Preset in discovery a couple of days ago and this was the result. What do you think? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ICZwCkzIQPBrqhpDjDhBOUhJpWe8-mD8/view?usp=drivesdk

It could also be the very heavily edited (Phaser/Flanger) Guitar screech sample from the song... Nord Lead is of course also an option, as the Bück dich version from 1996 was different, for example. All the Nord Lead stuff probably only became standard in 1997. But this sample would be my first question to Flake 😆 Just like the Feuer frei synth

mikelorenz 94
XX - Large 800 Pro FX/Partition B/XP Weird 3-4/X Weird FX3/X WEI22 I was listening to the center channel of the Live Aus Berlin concert and I think Flake is using the same scream he used on Benzin and Buscktabu in Herzeleid. I added distortion in Kontakt but maybe with ensoniq distortion it will sound better, what do you think? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gfyi8P4xPOHWz6LB8yv98Qep50Q3wzNE/view?usp=sharing Edited October 19 by mikelorenz
mikelorenz 94
Does anyone else get the feeling that Flake is using Benzin samples? At that moment you can hear it.

Fleischgewehr 47
LMAO daaaamn, this is easily one of the NICEST and BEST finds EVER in this thing we have here. who the fuck and how the hell did they decide "oh hey, theres a turkish song i happen to know, that has 5 seconds in it, if we pitch it down by an octave or so, it would totally be a great intro to that new song we have" ?! my last fling had muslim background, and i showed and asked her about the sample, if it was a call to prayer or such and she told me, "makes no sense as a muezzins call, definitely not heard before"....now we know why.

OK enough autism for the day.
Hokkaido 241
Zero-G certainly didn't pay any licenses back then - they just sampled, pitched it up and hoped that nobody would notice 😄 Classic sampling of the early 90s... But the fact that it took almost 30 years to find out the origin, despite Rammstein, is really very strange. I can imagine that Rammstein themselves don't even know this origin. 2
DuduMil 285
Best Service - Peter Siedlaczeks Orchestra > PARTITION D > STRINGS C0-C6 > STR C0-C#3 To me, these are the Sonne strings, because they sound a bit closer than the Roland ones. I also think it's this patch because Flake also used this disc on Sehnsucht and on Nebel. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1K-lyfZl1L5p0CUBHh3p284sotaebb2qn/view?usp=sharing 1
